 Curator Lauri Firstenberg founded RTM Projects.  She received her Ph.D. in the History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University.  Firstenberg founded LAXART - the leading independent nonprofit contemporary art space in Los Angeles in 2005 where

Curator Lauri Firstenberg founded RTM Projects. She received her Ph.D. in the History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University. Firstenberg founded LAXART - the leading independent nonprofit contemporary art space in Los Angeles in 2005 where she was the Executive Director and Chief Curator through 2015. Firstenberg is the founding curatorial consultant of VIA Art Fund, UTA and the Careyes Art Foundation. She served as curator for Artists Space, Mak Center for Art and Architecture, there-there, DISTINCT, After & Again, IF INNOVATION FOUNDATION as well as the curator for several private collections and foundations. She has published worldwide on contemporary art and has curated biennials and festivals locally, nationally and internationally as a curator of Made in LA establishing the first LA Bienniale with the Hammer Museum in collaboration with LAXART, co-director of the Pacific Standard Time Performance and Public Art Festival with the Getty, “I Thought LA Would Be Different,” The California Bienniale, OCMA, the LA Pavilion of Shanghai Bienniale, assistant curator Documenta 11. She was the Associate Curator of The Short Century with her mentor Okwui Enwezor. Firstenberg is the West Coast producer for Isolated Labs. She is the curator of AF Projects in Hollywood and is the acting curator and artistic director for the platform SBR.
